A joke and a masterpiece at once. The artisan impresses raw clay against woven matting until it reads as textile, then builds a bag around a hollow well that will hold water. Slabs this thin usually tear themselves apart over a fourteen-day firing. That this one survived, handle intact, is the reason such works enter collections rather than kitchens.
