A mandala is a map. We made it soft.
Tanchenki designs and manufactures original mandala and thangka home textiles in Dalian, China. Our subject is Himalayan sacred geometry; our medium is heavyweight cushion covers, wall hangings and sofa sets you can actually live with.
The subject
Geometry that was never decorative
A mandala is a plan of a palace seen from above — concentric gateways, four directions, a centre that holds the principal figure. Nothing in it is arbitrary. The number of petals, the order of the colours, the direction the guardians face: all of it carries meaning built up over centuries in the Himalayan tradition.
We treat that seriously. Before a design is drawn, it is researched. Before it is printed, it is checked against the convention it belongs to. The result is artwork that a person who knows the tradition can read, and that a person who does not can simply find beautiful.
How we work
Four commitments
Research first
Every composition starts in the source material: Kalachakra proportion systems, sutra iconography, thangka colour convention, and the geometry that governs which deity, mount and offering may appear where.
Redrawn, never traced
Our designers redraw each mandala from scratch as original artwork. Nothing is lifted from a temple photograph or a museum scan, which is why every design is independently copyrighted in our own name.
Printed and foiled by hand
Screens are aligned by eye, one colour at a time. Gold detailing is hot-foil pressed after printing so the metallic sits on top of the pigment and catches light the way leaf does on a thangka.
Tested, not just pretty
Fabric and print are TÜV SÜD tested for colour fastness and skin-safe finishing. Covers are machine washable, zip-closed and built for a sofa that gets used every day.

The collection
Cushions, sets and wall pieces
Standard covers are 50 × 50 cm with a concealed zip. Inserts are optional. Wholesale, private label and OEM production are all available — send us a brief and we will quote.
